HA2729 Browning Citori CXS, O/U, 20 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 30"MC Bbls., (Used 99.9%), $1,695

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Browning Says:  Crossover perfection. The CXS specializes in great handling, target acquisition and consistency for the sporting/skeet shooter who also wants to take his shotgun hunting. Dimensioned for consistent shooting on the range, its 50/50 POI lets you move to upland hunting perfectly. It has all the best sporting features like Invector-Plus Midas grade tubes, the triple trigger system, and a mid bead. The flat, floating rib is made to keep you on target, even under the heat of heavy shooting. It is true that gunwriters consider the CXS a great value -- and they do it for all the right reasons. This is an over and under that can cross over and compete in both the hunting and target worlds. •RECEIVER – Steel; High polish blued; New Citori CXS logo on sides of receiver in gold •BARREL – Flat floating rib, Lightweight profile; Ventilated top and side ribs •POI – 50/50 point of impact, suitable for sporting clays, skeet and field •ACTION – 12 and 20 gauge, 3” chamber; Chromed chamber •STOCK – Grade II American walnut, Gloss finish; Inflex recoil pad •FEATURES – Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones; Three Midas grade extended Invector-Plus choke tubes (F,M,IC); Triple Trigger System with one trigger supplied;
Ivory front and mid bead sights.

Hero's Arms Says:    This Browning Citori CXS has been shot very little, and not mishandled at all.  I can find no handling marks, so rank its condition as 99.9%.  It is a 20 Gauge whose 30" barrels have 3" chambers for 2 3/4" & 3' shells.  The previous owner added a HiViz front sight and extra choke tubes.  It has 1 Modified, 2 Improved Cylinder, and 2 Skeet chokes.  It has a 14 3/4" Length Of Pull over an Inflex II Recoil pad.  The LOP can be slightly varied by moving the trigger, and different thickness Inflex II pads and spacers can be added to make greater adjustments.  It is not ported so can be shot over dogs.  It is good for hunting, skeet and sporting clays.  And also a bargain.

HA2706 Browning BSS, Side by Side, 20 Ga., 2 3/4" & 3", 28"IC/IM Bbls., (Used 97%) $1,695

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Hero's Arms Says:   This Browning BSS was built in Japan in the early 1970s.  It has picked up a few handling marks from being used in hunting a few times, but it seems to be as-new mechanically.  The worst handling mark is a vertical line on the left side of the forearm just forward of the receiver, the rest are minor indentations.  The bluing is worn under the automatic safety button, and perhaps on the sharp edges of the muzzle.  These marks bring it down to 97% condition in my estimation.  It has no cast, a 14 1/4" Length of Pull, and weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces. The barrels are marked  right ** and left * Browning's old code for Modified and Full,  but the constrictions actually measure .10 and .22 which would make it more in the range of Improved Cylinder or Skeet 2 and Improved Modified.  The barrels have not been bored out, this is just a difference in nomenclature. In any event the mechanical single non-selective trigger fires the right more open barrel first and the left tighter barrel second.  This is an excellent upland hunting gun in excellent mechanical and hunted finish condition.  It could also be used at the skeet range to warm up for the season.

HA2722 Caesar Guerini Maxum Sporting Combo, O/U, 20 Ga., 28 Ga., 410 Bore, 32"MC Bbls., New-In-Case, $13,450 (Show-Gun $9,995)

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Caesar Guerini Says:  The Maxum Sporting is truly a stunning over/under shotgun. The deep relief gothic scroll hand finished engraving on the receiver, side plates, and fore-end assembly make
this sporting gun unique among others on the clays course. The handwork and design are from the studios of the world renowned Italian engraving house, Bottega Incisioni C. Giovanelli. The coin finish frame is painstakingly hand polished. Balancing the beauty of the deeply sculpted engraving is a deluxe grade of Turkish walnut, featuring precision cut 26 lines-per-inch checkering and a natural oil finish, hand rubbed to a sheen that enhances the highly figured wood grain. The Maxum Sporting is available in 12, 20 and 28 gauge; 12 gauge models feature the new Maxis Bore/Choke System and are offered in barrels up to 34” for the serious competitor.  Combination two-barrel sets in 20/28 gauge and three-barrel 20/28/.410 gauge sets are also available.

Hero's Arms Says:  This Special Order Maxum Sporting Combo was built in 2016 and has been used as an exhibit in various shows by Caesar Guerini.  It has not been shot and is in New-In-Case condition with no discernable marks.  It has the full Caesar Guerini Lifetime Warranty, and the Pit Stop program.  As might be expected from a Show Gun the walnut is exceptional, and the engraving is the full coverage Maxum pattern.   It has 32" barrels in each gauge each with its own forearm. The 20 Ga. and 28 Ga.  barrels have Selectachoke tubes in Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Skeet and Cylinder constrictions, the 410 Bore has tubes in Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet and Cylinder constrictions.  18 Choke tubes in all.  The case comes with choke wrenches, trigger LOP adjustment wrench, and a Stock Removal wrench.  The list price for this gun is $13,450 but Caesar Guerini has authorized a sale price of $9,995 with free shipping.  There are no further discounts.

Hero's Arms Says:  This gun was shot a few times and traded in for an over/under.  It has picked up a couple of small dings, which I photographed, otherwise the rest are the original photos. It is a wonderful trap gun.  It can fit just about any right handed shooter from 5' to 6' tall with a Length of Pull that varies between 13 7/8" and 15 1/8".  It has a right handed palm swell.  It has about a 3/16" cast off. With its 8 pound 12 ounce weight and decelerator recoil pad you can shoot it all day.  It comes with three SKB Competition Choke Tubes in Full, Improved Modified, and Modified constrictions and others can be ordered from SKB.  The Butt Plate can be raised or lowered or canted for comfort for men and women.  It has very nice wood.  It is hard to find a trap gun at three times the price with these features.

HA2458 Beretta 687EELL, Diamond Pigeon, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" &3", 28"MC Bbls., (Used 97%), Cased, $3,795

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Beretta Says:  687 EELL Diamond Pigeon: Luxury and Performance  The 687 EELL is the absolute top of the line of Beretta’s 680-series over-under shotguns. It features sideplates that act as extra canvas for the lavish hand-chased engraving, as well as a specially-selected walnut stock that gives it a true heirloom quality. But while it certainly figures well while on display, the Diamond Pigeon’s worth as a game gun is equally striking. Weighing about 7 lbs (12-ga version), and with the point of balance right at the hinge-pin, it is a shotgun that comes up naturally to the shoulder while still having enough of a lively feeling forward of the supporting hand. This is an over-under with the feel and allure of a classic, for the discriminating hunter who appreciates all the finer points of a perfectly-made gun.  Premium Hand-Chased Engraving, Premium Stock The full sideplates of the 687 EELL feature a super-fine classic game scene, and are enhanced by intricately detailed motifs of branches, leaves and flowers that extend to the trigger plate, trigger guard and fore-end iron lever. The proportions of the engraving blend wonderfully with the dimensions of the shotgun, giving you the sense of a work of art within a work of art. The stock is a classic semi-beavertail, with premium-quality European walnut and a newly designed fine-line checkering. An oval brass shield, inlaid on the stock, will allow you to personalize your gun with initials or a family crest, while the handsome and durable carrying case will protect the shotgun on all your hunting adventures. A Classic Choice for Hunting This shotgun will shine in any hunting situation. This is because it is built on a receiver that is equally strong and low-profile. The 687 action has two conical locking lugs at mid-height, meaning that it will always lock up strongly and positively while not requiring the extra bulk and weight for a top locking lever. This further means that when you bring it up to the shoulder, the vertical distance between your eye and your supporting hand is minimized: this shotgun will follow your sight easily and instinctively. And in spite of its beauty, the 687 action is noted for its strength, so this is a shotgun that you can confidently pass down to the next generation of hunters.

Hero's Arms Says:      This Beretta 687EELL Diamond Pigeon has been used and has minor handling marks to show it.  These reduce its condition to 97% in my opinion.  The Blue Book values this gun, in 95% condition, at $5,500.  This is an all around gun for collecting, hunting, skeet and sporting clays.  It comes with six choke tubes in Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, Skeet, Skeet and Cylinder constrictions and other Mobilchokes are easy to find.  The wood and engraving are spectacular.  This is a very high grade gun.

HA2379 Marble's Model 21 Game Getter, Folding Stock, O/U, .22 S/L/LR over .410 Bore, 2 1/2" or GG 44, 18"Bbls., (Used 98%), $2,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Marble's Model 21 Game Getter was purchased in 1929 by my wife's great uncle, James Eccles for his wife Mary.  It has descended through the family to my wife.  Considering its 88 year life, so far, it is in excellent shape.  It may not have been fired, the bores are mirror. It comes with the original Box, the original Owner's Manual, both numbered to the gun, and a copy of the 1929 registration card from Marble's Archives.  The gun shows some holster wear on the end of the barrels and on sharp edges of the receiver.  This is not a restricted or NFA weapon  "the 18" barrel variation was administratively removed from the NFA in 1939 by the Bureau of Internal Revenue after determining that it was not concealable on the person."  The top barrel is chambered for 22 Short, Long or Long Rifle cartridges, the bottom barrel accepts 410 2 1/2" Shot Shells/Rifled Slugs, or 44 Game Getter Ball cartridges (which you probably won't find at Wall Mart).  It has a blade front sight, and a combination U shaped or Peep, rear sight.  The gun breaks open by pulling back on the trigger guard. A single extractor lifts the shells from both chambers.  The Hammer Face pivots up or down to select the barrel to be fired.  It has no safety, but the hammer must be manually cocked before it will fire.  This is an authentic collectors piece, and would be handy to have as a survival rifle/shotgun if society falls apart as some expect.

HA2359 Perazzi (Ithaca) Mirage Sporting Combo, Long-LOP, O/U 12 Ga. 2 3/4", 30" Ported Bbls., Briley Sub-Gauge 20-28-410 30" Tubes, Extra Trigger, Stock, Springs, (Used-Custom), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Perazzi Mirage was built in 1973 in Italy and was Imported by Ithaca. First it was used as a trap gun, but not used very much, then I bought it in 1992 and had Klaus Hiptmayer (now retired) carve me a stock from exhibition grade wood.  The stock was made to my dimensions, so the Length of pull is 15 7/8".  I was fascinated with the idea of a custom stock so I had the butt checkered, no pad.  I realized this was a mistake after shooting a round of Skeet with the 12 Gauge.  I think I have shot one or two rounds of Skeet with the 28 Gauge inserts in the last 20 years, so the gun is as modified. Any purchaser under 6'5" will probably want to have the stock shortened and a recoil pad fitted.  The bottoms of both triggers were engraved  by Heidi Hiptmayer (now deceased) with a Fleur-de-Lis with Serpent Entwined, which is the Hero's Arms Logo (at the top of this page), and also the Crest from the Buckner Family Coat of Arms.  In Heraldry the Fleur-de-Lis signifies purity, the Serpent signifies wisdom (after the Garden of Eden).  The 30" (760mm) barrels have sub-gauge tube fitted by Briley and Thin Wall Briley Choke tubes.  For the 12 Gauge there are five chokes, Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and 2 Skeet.  For the 20-28-410 Tube sets each has Modified, Improved Cylinder and Two Skeet chokes.  The combo comes with a number of extras.  The gun itself comes with a non-selective trigger, the bottom barrel always fires first, so I bought a Selective Trigger assembly for it which is included.  Next, there is a set of replacement springs and firing pins, with wrench just in case they are needed in the middle of a competition. There is a Release Trigger Hook and spring so the standard trigger can be converted to a release trigger.  Finally, there is the original Trap Stock with an Edwards Recoil Reducer inside, and the original forearm.

HA2251 Charles Daly (Miroku) Kolar Skeet Combo, O/U, 12-20-28-410 28", Cased, Condition Various, $2,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Charles Daly Superior Grade was originally built by Miroku in Japan, and is essentially a Browning Citori with some differences.  I had Midwest Gun Works replace the springs, check it over and re-blue the receiver, so mechanically it is in excellent condition.  There are numerous small handling marks on the wood, and the bluing on the right side of the lower barrel has some freckling, so no one will think this a new gun.  It has a 14 3/4" LOP over a Morgan Pad, which allows for the Drop At Heel to be adjusted to the shooter's choice. Each Gauge has 2 Skeet tubes, in addition the 12 has IC/Mod/Full, the 20 & 28 have IC/IC, and the 410 has Mod/Full.  It comes with a plastic mallet, a knock-out driver and choke wrenches for every gauge.  The Aluminum Case seems Airline Proof. The 12 Gauge, empty weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces, but with the barrel weight or sub gauge tubes installed it weighs around 8 pounds 9 ounces.  On the sides of the receiver there are what Charles Daly called "Selexors", which supposedly allow the shooter to select between ejection and extraction, but I have been unable to figure out how they work, so it just ejects.  I shot a round of Skeet with the 28 Gauge Tubes installed, and everything worked perfectly - except the shooter who got his usual score.  Anyway, it's a poor workman who blames his tools.  I have other 4 gauge sets available, but this one is a real bargain.

HA2270 Kolar Max Skeet, Big & Tall, Adjustable-Comb-Ribs, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 30"MC Bbls., & Carrier Bbls. w/ Kolar AAA 20, 28 & 410 Inserts, Americase (Used 99%), $13,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Kolar Max Skeet was custom built for a big, tall right handed shooter.  It has a 15 7/8" Length of Pull, and weighs 10 pounds 8 ounces with the 12 Gauge barrels and within an ounce of that with the carrier barrels with sub-gauge tubes.   It has the Kolar LS3 competition stock configuration with 1 5/8" drop at Comb and Monte Carlo, 3 1/4" drop at Heel, 1/4" Offset to the right, and 3/4" Toe out.  Both the 12 Gauge barrels and the carrier barrels have ribs adjustable for Point Of Impact from 50%/50% to 70%/30%.  It has a hi-gloss blue receiver, a $795 upgrade from the standard nickel finish.  It comes with Kolar Chokes in Modified, Light Modified, Improved Cylinder and Skeet/Skeet in 12 Gauge.  The Kolar AAA sub gauge tubes have Skeet/Skeet chokes, with an extra Improved Cylinder choke in 20, 28 and 410.  It has nicely figured wood.  It has been serviced by Kolar and is in excellent condition. There are a few small handling marks so I rate it at 99% condition.  This is a gun for the serious skeet competitor.  Free Shipping in the original 48 states.

HA1402 Caesar Guerini Forum Sporting, O/U, 12 Ga., 2 3/4", 32"MC Bbls., As-New-In-Case, $7,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

Caesar Guerini Says:  Description: The Forum Sporting over/under is in a class by itself, a remarkable creation that combines the legendary Italian gunmakers’ craft with technologically advanced manufacturing processes. The best highly skilled craftsmen pour many hours of hand labor and painstaking attention to detail into each Forum Sporting. Every surface is hand-polished, even interior areas you can’t see, and all components are hand-fitted to ensure flawless operation. Updated engraving on the Forum Sporting, includes more coverage and detail. The gun also features our revolutionary new full-length trigger guard that dispenses with screws for a clean, seamless look. The end of the guard terminates in a perfectly fitted skeletal grip cap, adding a touch of elegance. The Forum Sporting is stocked in premium English walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish.

Hero's Arms Says:  This gun was sold just a few months ago, and has had fewer than 2,000 shots fire through it.  A need to pay college tuition for a child prompted it's return. This is the top of the Caesar Guerini line.  With its full coverage engraving and highly figured walnut it is elegant. It has a slight cast on (right hand) and a right hand palm swell.   It's price is a very significant reduction not only from list but also from the Club/Military/NRA price.

HA1894 Browning Belgian Superposed Grade V (Diana) 2 Barrel Combo, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 28"IC/IC, and 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 26 3/8" SK/SK, Cased, (Used 99%), Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

This Browning Grade V (Diana) combo, first sold in 1956, is in exceptional condition.  There are a few very minor dings in the wood but the bluing and engraving are near mint.  It came originally with a 28 inch barrel set, barrel 1, choked Full and Modified.  These barrels were later opened up to Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder (Briley choke tubes could be installed if desired to get back to Full and Modified).  The second barrel set, 26 3/8" in Skeet and Skeet constrictions, barrel 2, was installed later by Browning and numbered to the gun.  A Limbsaver recoil pad has been mounted but the original Browning pad is in the case.  The Length of Pull with the original pad is the correct 14 1/4", with the Limbsaver it is 14 1/2". It has a Prince of Wales (Round Knob) Long Tang configuration. The wood is nicely figured. The Browning case is in good condition and contains the original owner’s manual numbered to the gun.  The deeply incised engraving by Browning Master Engraver Doyen is exceptionally beautiful - I personally prefer the Grade V deeply incised engraving to the earlier and later Diana styles.  I shot a round of skeet with the 26 3/8" barrels and the gun functioned flawlessly.  This is a real collector’s dream, which could also be used for hunting, skeet or sporting clays.

HA1301 Browning Pre-War Superposed, Midas Level Upgrade, Double Single Triggers, English Stock, 12 Ga., 2 3/4" 30"IC/M Bbls., Cased, $6,995

For a full page of  photographs and a detailed description click the photo above or click here.

The receiver for this Superposed was probably manufactured in 1932, but it was first sold in 1936 for $59.46.  As it left the factory it was a standard grade with specially ordered Improved Cylinder and Modified choking, and twin single triggers. (Browning Factory Letter) Unlike most double trigger guns the front trigger will fire first the bottom then reset itself and fire the top barrel,  The rear trigger will fire the top barrel, then one must use the front trigger to fire the bottom barrel.  One can also use it just like a normal double trigger gun. It has a solid rib and the "horseshoe" bracket on the front of the forearm, which distinguishes it from later versions of the Superposed.  In 1984 it was purchased by Thomas Grogg, an engraver, who engraved it and put in solid 18 Karat gold inlays and lines.  On the left side of the receiver is a Mallard, the right side is a Canada Goose. On the pre-1936 Midas Superposed there were pigeons on both sides of the receiver, so this is not a copy or an attempt to fake being a Midas Grade, but a Midas level upgrade.  After it was engraved in 1984 it was reblued and refinished by a gunsmith who formerly ran the Browning refinishing shop. There was some cracking in the finish of the stock, as was normal for Brownings of that era, so it was refinished with an oil finish by Klaus Hiptmayer who also refreshed the engraving. There is probably more than a thousand dollars worth of gold in this gun.  Grogg's signature is on the lower right side of the receiver just behind the pivot pin.  It has two recoil pads, a Pachmayr Old English, and a Browning Vent Rubber pad.  I purchased it from Grogg. The gun has had about 200 rounds fired since 1984
